The Team behind My Purchases

The My Purchases project is part of the Statens Serum Institut (SSI), who is data controller for the project. The fact that SSI is the data controller means, among other things, that SSI is responsible for complying with data protection regulations when processing the personal data in the project.

The following researchers behind My Purchases:

Frederik Trier Møller

Frederik

Project leader Frederik Trier Møller (specialist, Ph.D.) from Statens Serum Institut is a trained community physician and has experience in establishing digital, citizen-oriented solutions for the collection of research data, research infrastructures, and registry research.
Frederik Trier Møller is responsible for several of the sub-projects that will investigate the connection between shopping habits and the causes of diseases. He sees the possibility of using information about our purchases as an important element in research and prevention in the future.

Steen Ethelberg

Steen

Steen Ethelberg is professor of epidemiology at the University of Copenhagen and day-to-day manager of the group at the Department of Infection Epidemiology, Statens Serum Institut, which is responsible for surveilling disease transmitted via food, water and animals. His group investigates how foodborne diseases are transmitted and what can be done to limit the spread as much as possible. Steen has been one of the pioneers behind the use of consumer purchasing data for foodborne outbreak investigation.

Johan Burisch

Johan

Johan Burisch (medical doctor, PhD) works at the Gastro unit, Hvidovre Hospital, where diseases of the digestive tract, liver and pancreas are treated. Johan and his research group do research in pattern recognition in order to be able to predict the course of disease in patients with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Some people develop or experience a worsening of their intestinal disease, and the interaction between diet, intestinal bacterial flora and the immune system is an important element in this process. Research into purchasing data can contribute important knowledge about the factors that can trigger or worsen the diseases, and we strongly expect the research to benefit patients.
